Common questions
Where do I play? In your browser, free: open presidential.app/play on a computer or a phone. There's nothing to install. There's also an iPhone beta on TestFlight.
Do I need an account? No. You can start as a guest straight away. A guest account lives in that browser or device, so sign in with Google, Apple or an email link if you want to keep your seat on another device, or to get it back after clearing your browser's data. We only keep your email address and an account identifier from the sign-in, never your name or photo. See the Privacy Policy.
How long is a term? Seven real days. A game-day passes every 10 minutes. Your AI cabinet governs while you're away and handles routine decisions under your autopilot limit. Crises always wait for you.
How am I scored? Against a caretaker: the same country, as if the clock had decided every card. Inheriting a mess doesn't count against you; beating the caretaker line does.
What happens when my term ends? You write a handoff note, your term gets a grade, and the next president inherits everything you leave. You can take another seat afterwards.
Can I get my country back? Seats rotate. Your record follows you in your profile and Hall of Presidents.
Is any of this real? No. Countries, events and leaders in Presidential are simulated, starting from public data. See the Terms and Data sources.
Safety, privacy and your account
How do I block someone? Open your conversation with them, or their country, open the … menu and choose Block. You won't see their messages, and they aren't told. To unblock, go to Settings → Blocked presidents. See the Community Guidelines.
How do I report something? In a conversation, or on a player's country, open the … menu and choose Report. You can also report a treaty's name or the handoff note you inherited. Reports are reviewed by people. For anything urgent, email us as well.
How do I turn AI replies off? Settings → Privacy → AI replies. With it off, nothing you write, and not your handle, is sent to the AI provider, and your ministers and AI presidents answer with pre-written replies. You can turn it back on at any time. See the Privacy Policy.
Do you use analytics or cookies? On the website and in the web game, only as far as you choose. The first time you visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics and session replays (PostHog). With Accept, we see which screens work and where people get stuck; replays hide everything you type and what players write. Before you choose, or with Decline, we only count visits anonymously, without cookies. Change your answer with Privacy choices at the bottom of the website, or Settings → Privacy → Analytics & replays in the game. No ads, nothing sold. PostHog isn't in the iPhone and Android apps. See Cookies and the Privacy Policy.
My account was suspended. The game shows the reason. If you think it's a mistake, email support@presidential.app with your handle and we'll take another look. A suspension never stops you deleting your account and its data.
How do I delete my account? Settings → Delete account, or email us. If you can't open the game, see Delete your account, which also lists what is deleted and what stays.
